Christy Green is an LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor) who has over 13 years of experience working with individuals, families and couples.  Christy takes a client-centered, strengths-based approach, helping clients improve the quality of their lives through improved communication and relationships, while also incorporating life balance to facilitate exploration, discovery, and nurturance of your authentic self.

Christy is an eclectic practitioner with experience and training in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, The Gottman Method, Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy, Career Theory, and others.  Christy supports the LGBTQ+ community, and is also experienced and well versed in working with non-traditional relationships including: polyamory, swingers lifestyle, and ENM (ethical non-monogamy).

Do you find yourself struggling with relationships or communication issues? Are anxiety, life stressors, transitions, career changes, social anxiety, or depression interfering with you experiencing your best life? Is your child struggling with behavioral or emotional issues? In a non-judgmental, compassionate manner, using a strengths-based approach, I help adults, children, and teens, empower themselves, while providing guidance towards improving their quality of life, and resolving issues. During our sessions, I will support you in navigating relationships, learning conflict resolution skills, identifying emotional triggers, learning coping techniques, developing healthier communication strategies, adapting healthier thinking patterns, and developing self-care practices, which help lead to psychological wellness and stability.

Some examples of life challenges that clients come to me for help with include challenges at work or school, parenting, difficulties in relationships, social anxiety, low self-esteem, diagnosis with a serious illness, lifestyle changes or adjustments, and improving wellness practices/physical fitness/nutrition, and many more!

In addition to my training as a mental health clinician, I incorporate my background in law enforcement into my clinical practice, particularly when counseling first responders and veterans. A typical session may involve exploration of themes such as your personal life goals, building positive relationships, becoming your authentic self, the pursuit of meaning in life, and the mind-body connection.
