Do you ever feel like you are highly sensitive or have trouble sorting through all of your thoughts and emotions? Do you find yourself wondering why you have negative feelings and thoughts when everything in life seems to be okay? Are depression and anxiety showing up often in your life? Is it hard for you to relax or find peace of mind? Do you ever feel so uncomfortable in your body for no apparent reason? Sometimes our prior negative experiences can stick with us, even if we thought we were "over it."
If you're here, you're probably ready for a change of some kind. I'm so glad that you are ready to take the next steps towards a better life and I'd love to support you on your journey. Therapy begins with establishing a connection and building safety in our therapeutic relationship. Next, we will identify your current "stuck points" and get to the bottom of what is holding you back. I will teach you ways to help you understand yourself on a deeper level that illuminate the source of your "stuck points" so that we may begin addressing them. Following this, I will offer in-depth education about each treatment that I offer and we will collaboratively develop the right approach custom tailored to your needs.
As treatment progresses, I will teach you ways to have more control over your thoughts and feelings. We will use somatic techniques such as Brainspotting and mindfulness to help you process and heal unresolved trauma that affects both your mind and body. I offer a holistic approach that welcomes clients to incorporate spiritual practice and connection with nature into treatment.
My practice is influenced by traditional psychotherapeutic approaches, modern somatic techniques, Eastern philosophy (such as Taosim or Buddhism) and New Age/Spiritual perspectives. I integrate each of these elements to appropriately match the needs of my clients. I also strongly believe in the healing power of nature. As a Certified Nature Informed Therapist, I love to teach my clients coping skills that involve using time in nature and building a connection with nature to optimize mental health and wellness. My clients have described my style as warm, empathetic, interactive and lively. If you're looking for a therapist who will sit quietly, nod their head and occasionally say "Okay" or "Mmmhmmm" you've probably come to the wrong place.😊
I incorporate humor, empathy, compassion, positive affirmations and supportive feedback into each session. My clients tell me that these factors significantly impact their progress and help them feel more comfortable when dealing with difficult issues during their work together.
I deeply understand the depth and impact that trauma has on the human soul. We will work together to build an approach that works for you and your unique needs. I look forward to collaborating with you on your journey towards a better life. Please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.
